Jax and the Beanstalk

For the Xmas Pantomime this year we are bringing a classic fairy-tale to life and giving it a unique twist. Jax and the Beanstalk sees our Jax as a strong and independent young woman, she trading the cow for magic beans and adventuring into the world of mysterious Giants but there is so much more happening in this magical adventure. With a dastardly baron, bumbling henchmen, vicious gremlins, the long suffering Mother and a handsome Prince. We have an amazingly talented cast of young people and some old favourites.

Only 4 performances Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of December at 11am and 2pm.

Children Under 12 – $5, Adults – $10 and Families 2 Adults & 2 children – $25

Tickets can be purchased by following the link below.

Community Group Fundraising

The Lismore Theatre Company is happy to offer community groups the chance to purchase discounted tickets for a night during the opening week of one of our shows to use as a fundraiser through promotion to  members and friends. As an example, the whole theatre of 88 seats can be purchased for around $11 per seat and then offered for, say, $20 or more per ticket realising a minimum profit of $800,  and potentially much more. If you are interested please contact Jennie Hicks on 0431 958 991/ 66879167 or by email on hicksanddickson@gmail.com.

The Rochdale Theatre

And a quick update on LTC’s progress with Lismore City Council in relation to the disposal of the Rochdale Theatre. It has become clear over the past few months, that Council doesn’t want to continue to be the landlord responsible for the theatre building, and should LTC continue to be a tenant, the rent would rise considerably. In light of this, LTC put forward a proposal to purchase the theatre at a minimal price. A number of Councillors have expressed support for this proposal. Council staff have yet to provide their report to a Council meeting but they have promised to inform LTC when this occurs so that we may speak to the issue.

Meanwhile, we have  had a wonderful letter of support from Arts Northern Rivers and also an offer of support from Trevor Acfield and the Greens representatives in Lismore.

Membership & Volunteering

To become a member of Lismore Theatre Company Inc or Renewal your membership, please visit www.lismoretheatrecompany.org.au/membership. Membership is for 12 months. Membership entitles you to discounts on shows and opens the door for working with the theatre in any area, backstage, on stage, lighting the stage and sounding the stage. We also need plumbers, carpenters, sewing helpers, an upholsterer, all sorts of things. Join the great team and get involved.

Volunteers are always needed for Box Office and Front of House! It’s a fun quick little mini work exchange, where you help us out by serving tea and biscuits and then get to see the show for free!
