Community Group Fundraising
The Lismore Theatre Company is happy to offer community groups the chance to purchase discounted tickets for a night during the opening week of one of our shows to use as a fundraiser through promotion to members and friends. As an example, the whole theatre of 88 seats can be purchased for around $11 per seat and then offered for, say, $20 or more per ticket realising a minimum profit of $800, and potentially much more. The Rochdale Theatre
And a quick update on LTC’s progress with Lismore City Council in relation to the disposal of the Rochdale Theatre. It has become clear over the past few months, that Council doesn’t want to continue to be the landlord responsible for the theatre building, and should LTC continue to be a tenant, the rent would rise considerably. In light of this, LTC put forward a proposal to purchase the theatre at a minimal price. A number of Councillors have expressed support for this proposal. Council staff have yet to provide their report to a Council meeting but they have promised to inform LTC when this occurs so that we may speak to the issue.
Meanwhile, we have had a wonderful letter of support from Arts Northern Rivers and also an offer of support from Trevor Acfield and the Greens representatives in Lismore.
