The Lismore Theatre Company and Claffical Gaffs will present The Jury, a musical courtroom comedy, at the Rochdale Theatre, Ballina Road, Goonellabah, starting next Thursday, September 1, with a preview night.
The Jury is about sex, mistaken identity, lies and pizza. The humour is huge – and Pythonesque.
The characters are writ large – McPlodd the Scottish policeman, Clutterbuck the defence counsel, Bullcock the prosecutor, Father Paddy Mellen the Irish priest and so on.
This musical production uses many musical styles – ballads, popular love songs and light operatic solos. And the audience is the jury.
The Jury is brought to you by Claffical Gaffs, the team who gave you The Eisteddfod Show and Slippery When Wet.
Tickets are $20/15 (except for next Thursday’s preview night which is $10) from Uncle Peter’s Books (6621 8030) or at the door on the night.
The Jury runs next Thursday, September 1; Friday and Saturday, September 2 and 3; and Friday and Saturday, September 9 and 10: and Friday and Saturday September 16 and 17
